My reading today brings me to the 1st of the Minor Prophets. Just a few thoughts regarding them in general. They are called “Minor” because of their size, not because of their importance. They “are” important and God has included them in the Revelation of Himself and of His Will for His People! They are comprised of 12 Books (each named after the Prophet) and make up the last 67 Chapters of the Old Testament.
As far as their Importance, have you read them? No doubt you’ve read Jonah, but the other 11? Do you know their names, the gist of what they said, and the issues they addressed? If God’s Word is truly foundational to how we think, speak, and act, then leaving them out is truly a grave error. If you have never read through them please take time to do so. As mentioned above, there are only 67 Chapters and at a very leisurely pace you could read it in less than a month.
