“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.” Lamentations 3:25
Sandwiched between 4 very depressing Chapters comes Chapter 3. It is Jeremiah’s Prayer. He begins with sad confession, then slowly builds to a crescendo of hopeful expectation where he proclaims “The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease!” He then utters 3 statements of God’s Goodness beginning with today’s Verse, “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him!”
Consider: In the midst of Utter Devastation and Doom, he saw the Hand of God upon him for Good! Though the majority around him had abandoned Jehovah, Jeremiah was still able to “wait for Him” and “seek Him”!
Though we may be living in difficult times, we can certainly be encouraged with this man’s courage and faithfulness. May he be a fresh Inspiration to each of us!
